What metals do you pour and what are their properties?

Back to Frequently Asked Questions

319 Aluminum
27,000 psi tensile strength, good machining characteristics without heat treating, low cost,

A356 Aluminum
23,000 psi tensile strength, 40,000 psi tensile strength when heat treated to T6, should be heat treated before machining or drilling. good corrosion resistance

713 Aluminum
(high zinc alloy) 32,000 psi tensile strength at T5. naturally is heat treated to T5 after 30 days at room temp. high shrinkage

Silicon Bronze 876 Herculoy
60,000-70,000 psi tensile strength, mid range brass color (not really red but not really yellow), about 3 times the weight of aluminum

ZA-12 Zinc
About 2.5 times the weight of aluminum, Alloy is mostly zinc with 12 percent Aluminum

We have some other alloys and can get other non-ferrous alloys if quantities justify a metal purchase.
We cannot pour steel and iron from our furnaces.
